Charm Sciences Awarded Certificate of Conformance by USDA-FGIS for Test for Feed and Grain (OCHRAQ-G)
Charm Sciences is pleased to announce that in August it was awarded a Certificate of Conformance from the United States Department of Agriculture, Federal Grain Inspection Service (USDA-FGIS) for the ROSA® Ochratoxin Quantitative Test for Feed and Grain (OCHRAQ-G).
Charm’s OCHRAQ-G test allows grain and feed producers to quantitatively detect ochratoxin, which is produced by the molds Penicillium and Aspergillus and is known to cause nephropathy in farm animals. OCHRAQ-G tests are available domestically and internationally and they are manufactured at Charm’s facility in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
Mark Tess, Ph.D., Mycotoxin Product Manager for Charm Sciences said, “The ROSA Ochratoxin Quantitative Test has been reapproved by FGIS to support the needs of the feed and grain industry. The test is approved for use on eleven commodities and is currently the only test approved for the feed and grain industry.”
Charm’s OCHRAQ-G test is FGIS approved for the following commodities: barley, buckwheat, corn, corn gluten meal, malted barley, oat groats, rye, sorghum, soybean meal, soybeans, and wheat. The OCHRAQ-G test is approved for use with the Charm EZ®-M system.
